Abstract The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of learning stylesbased activities on developing the primary pupils’ English speaking skills. The participants of this study included 60 sixth year primary pupils at Al Shaheed Mohammad Joudah Primary School, Sharqyia Governorate. The instruments of the study included a speaking skills checklist, a questionnaire for identifying the participants’ learning style preferences and an EFL speaking skills test. The study adopted the two groups pre-posttest design. The EFL speaking skills test was administered to the participants prior implementing the activities. After teaching the learning styles-based activities to the research participants, the EFL speaking skills test was post administered. Findings of the study revealed that the speaking skills of the participants were significantly developed as a result of the proposed learning styles-based activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that learning styles-based activities were effective in developing EFL primary stage pupils’ speaking skills. |
