Abstract This study aimed to Investigate the effect of supplementation Plant Blends (Flaxseed, green coffee and green tea) with and without seeds Powders Tomato , Grape and Guava on obese albino rats. The study was conducted on 50 male Sprague Dawley rats , 8 weeks old, weighing (150-160 g). were fed on the basal diet prepared according to the American Institute of Nutrition (1993) for 7 consecutive days for adaptation and then divided into two main groups. Group1: Used as a normal group (negative control) fed on the basal diet throughout the experiment and includes (5 rats) . Second group: obesity induced group (45 rats) . In this group, rats were fed on standard diet + high fat diet (10% animal lipid) for 21 days to induce obesity. This group was subdivided into 9 subgroups to feed on the experimental diets for (4) weeks according to the following: group (2): 5 rats: Positive control group (untreated group) and fed on basal diet only. group (3):5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend. group (4):5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend +2.5% Tomato seeds. group (5):5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend + 5% Tomato seeds . group (6): 5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend +2.5% Grape seeds. group (7): 5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend +5% Grape seeds . group (8): 5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend + 2.5% Guava seeds . group (9): 5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend +5% Guava seeds . >group (10): 5 rats: Treated with 2.5% milled Plant Blend + 2.5% equalized mixture of all powders seeds. |
