Abstract 800 meat products collected randomly from Port-Said markets for E. coli isolation that was (43%). (54%) pastirma, (68%) minced meat, (11%) frankfurter, (57%) burger, (59%) sausage, (21%) luncheon, (60%) raw meat, and (14%) salami samples contained E. coli. Serotypes were (O25, O26, O55, O63, O78, O86, O111, O112, O114, O119, O124, O125, O1 26, O136, O142, O157, O158, and un-typed). E. coli isolates were sensitive to Imipenem, Chloramphenicol, Nalidixic acid, and Ofloxacin. PCR demonstrated that serotypes were positive for (phoA) and (tsh) while negative for (stx1) and (Vt2e) virulence genes. Three serotypes carried (eaeA) and only O157 carried (stx2) and (hly). |
