Abstract Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of low level laser on bicipital tendinitis. Subjects: fourty five patients of both sexes who suffered from chronic bicipital tendinitis(2-4 months) were selected and recruited randomly from Alareesh General Hospital. These patients were divided into three groups equal in number:group A (low level laser therapy group): received low level laser (Diode 650 nm) 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks. group B (low level laser therapy group): received low level laser (Diode 808 nm) 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks group C (Exercises group): received traditional physical therapy including stretching, strengthening and mobilization exercises. Measurements were conducted before starting the treatment as a first record, at the end of 4weeks of treatment as final record. All patients were referred by orthopedic surgeon and were assessed by VAS and Ultrasonography. Results: The finding of this study were: Post-treatment, the mean value of pain in group 650 nm, group exercise and group 808 nm were 7.60 ± 1.14, 7.45 ± 1.05 and 4.60 ± 1.31,/10 respectively. Post- treatment, the mean value of tendon thickness in group 650 nm, group exercise and group 808 nm were 5.54 ± 0.70, 5.69 ± 0.55 and 4.14 ± 0.82, with comparison to the other side . Conclusion: Finally it was concluded that Low level laser therapy with wave length 808nm had significant effect in bicibital tendinitis more than 650 nm. |
