Abstract Sugar beet is one of the most important sugar crops in the world. Therefore, this work was held in South Port Said 2015-2016 growing season to study the effect of the integrated use of organic manure and mineral nitrogen fertilization on the production of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) in a salt affected soil.Thirty four different treatments were performed on sugar beets between organic manure, mineral N fertilization and mixture between them, The growing plant parameters were recorded in terms of root length and root yield (tons / fad) and the sucrose and total sugars percent, samples of plants were analyzed after harvest that included estimating nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and sodium concentrations. Also, some micronutrients iron, zinc and manganese concentrations in plants, where the results showed a response in most of them for nitrogenous additives. The work also included analyzing the soil before planting and after harvest, where the results indicated an increase in porosity, hydraulic conductivity significantly after the harvest. The value of the total salt concentration as well as organic matter (OM) increased The concentrations of dissolved cations and anions in the ground solution increased, as did the concentrations of the large and small facilitated elements in the soil, while the pH value and bulk density decreased after the harvest. |
