Abstract

pleaThe influence of diesel/biodiesel blends on single cylinder diesel engine performance, and exhaust gas emissions have carried out at different engine loads and constant speed of 1400 rpm. The engine results as compared to diesel fuel show reduction in the rate of change of CO, HC, EGT and smoke emissions. The obtained results indicated that break thermal efficiency BTE of biodiesel blends was slightly lower than diesel fuel. RSM optimizer results indicated that the best possible values of BTE, UHC, and NOx are 13.656%, 120.7748 ppm, and 234.8926 ppm, respectively at the maximum value of biodiesel mixture (70%) and break power (2.05 Kw). Biodiesel produced from sunflower and soybean oil mixture could be blended with diesel up to 70%, which play a vital role as an alternative fuel solution for powering diesel engines without any modifications.
