Abstract This work was planned to investigate the therapeutic potential of GCBE in breast cancer compared with DOX and in combination with DOX. We investigated the possible anti-apoptotic and anti-oxidant action of these drugs through determination of biochemical and molecular parameters.We also planned to demonstrate the possible protective effect of GCBE in DOX-induced toxicity to delineate the possibility of its use as adjuvant therapy with DOX to enhance its effect and decrease DOX- associated organ toxicity. a) Experimental design 1: Sixty adult female albino mice were used in this study. Solid Ehrlich Ascites carcinoma (EAC) tumor was induced and mice were randomly designed into 4 groups (15 mice in each group): group I: (Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC)) bearing control group EAC bearing mice received no drugs for 21 days. group II: (tumor bearing mice + DOX treated group) EAC-bearing mice treated with Doxorubicin (DOX) (2mg/kg b.wt/day) intraperitoneal (IP) for 21 days (Elsherbiny et al., 2016). |
