Abstract An asphalt mix design was prepared using different percentages of un modified bitumen (4,4.5,5,5,5.5&6),figures below show relation between different percentage of un modified bitumen and (stability ,flow ,unit weight ,voids mineral aggregate%, air voids%&Stiffness) from the curves in the below Figure 4-5. the unit weight of mixture increase with increase of asphalt content to reach the maximum density of the mixture at 6% asphalt content, the air voids in the mixture with increase of asphalt content in an inverse relation with density so to satisfy the limitation air voids of 4% give asphalt content of 5.70% , increase of stability with increase of asphalt content till percentage of 5.5% asphalt content and decrease stability of mixture with more asphalt content , more asphalt content lead to less flow value of the mixture with the optimum asphalt content of 5.5% from asphalt mix design figures shown below, the optimum bitumen content = 5.5% |
