Abstract Gardenia latifolia Ait. is a small deciduous tree, up to 5m high, it is native to India and found in tropical and sub-tropical regions of Asia, Africa and Madagascar(Ray & Chowdhury, 2018).Branches are woody, terete, stout. Leaves were described as opposite, stipulate, subsessile to petiolate. Fruits are globose, 3-5 × 2-3.5 cm, woody, with stout beak. Flowers white to yellowish, pedicellate, fragrant; pedicels 0.6-0.8 cm long, smooth, glabrous. G. latifolia Ait. is common as the Indian Boxwood or Ceylon Boxwood. |
