Abstract The aim of this study is to study the effect of the process of electrocoagulation on the removal of different elements such as Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Total alkalinity, Bicarbonate HCO3 , Calcium Ca++, TDS, Chloride Cl- , Sulfate SO4 ++ and pH in terms of the impact of different parameters such as Reaction time, space between electrodes, ampere with one of them and the change of the last parameter. where the best results were for the total hardness i s 17.73%and for calcium hard is 30.94% and for total alkalinity is 90.78% and for the bicarbonate is 90.78% and for the calcium is 30.97% and for total dissolved solids is 15.59 and for chloride is 10.35 and for the sulfate is 49.75% the result of the study is to obtain the optimum electrocoagulation setup that yields a water with value (of the aforementioned parameters) closer to the ones that of portable water, therefor reducing the skimming that happens in the R.O. membrane. |
