Abstract

The present thesis is devoted for developing new methods for the analysis of certain cardiovascular drugs, namely Vincamine (VN), Naftidrofuryl Oxalate (NF), Sotalol hydrochloride (SOT), Verapamil hydrochloride (VP), and Moexipril hydrochloride (MOXL) either in pure form, in pharmaceutical preparation, and/or biological fluids. Piracetam (PR) as a nootropic drug was added to one of the methods. Methods: Different analytical techniques that were applied for the determination of the studied compounds which include spectrophotometric, spectrofluorimetric, and micellar HPLC methods in pure material, pharmaceutical formulations, and human plasma. Three different spectrophotometric and two spectrofluorimetric methods for determination of Vincamine and Naftidrofuryl Oxalate in pure form and pharmaceutical dosage forms which depend on charge transfer complex formation and a coupling reaction. Eco-Friendly micellar liquid chromatography was used to determine a mixture of Piracetam and Vincamine in pure form, pharmaceutical preparation, and spiked human plasma simultaneously. Micellar liquid chromatography was used to determine Sotalol, and Verapamil in pure form, pharmaceutical preparation, the method was used for their simultaneous determination in spiked human plasma. Two spectrophotometric methods have been developed for determination of Moexipril hydrochloride in pure form and pharmaceutical dosage form based on complex formation with the metal ions Cu2+ and Zn2+. Results: The principles of the proposed procedures as well as the experimental parameters and proposal schemes of the reactions were studied, discussed and explained. Furthermore, the data given were statistically analyzed and compared with those obtained by comparison methods. Conclusion: The propose methods are accurate, precise, simple, time saving and reproducible. The methods can be used for the determination in quality control laboratories and for industry.
