Abstract This study aimed to present proposed solutions to ensure the flow of waxy oil for a new oil discovery from reservoir to the oil plant. This goal can be achieved by using simulation programs, OLGA multiphase transient simulator and Multiflash PVT Simulator, to simulate, anticipate problems, apply proposed solutions, and know their effectiveness in overcoming obstacles. The following results: Overcoming some difficulties such as waxing and hydrates by the use of “gas injection” strategy which allow the liquid to flow smoother within the pipeline, keeping easy and stable the liquid management at the Oil plant receiving facilities (such as liquid levels, drain rates, operating pressure). Also to manage production and avoid slug flow, several simulations for dewatering and start up scenarios are discussed to find the optimum scenario and ensure gas and liquid speeds did not exceed the specified maximum speeds. Performing a flow assurance analysis during Front End Engineering & Design stage (FEED) enables us to avoid these challenges in the future. |
