Abstract Chronic renal disease is recognized as a major health and economic issue with an increasing incidence and prevalence.Chronic renal failure is defined as the presence of kidney damage, manifested by abnormal albumin excretion or decreased kidney function this study shows that deficiency of vitamin D in chronic renal failure patients is a associated with high level of intact parathyroid hormone(hyperparathyroidism)also, vitamin D receptor gene fokl polymorphism had effect on the levels of intact parathyroid hormone.F allel in vitamin D receptor fokl gene polymorphism was shown to have a higher incidence in the development of secondary hyperparathyroidism in chronic renal failure patients.Deficiency of vitamin D ,high level of intact parathyroid hormone and it’s association with vitamin D recptor gene polymorphisms may be used as morbidity indicator and risk factors for identification the high risk group in chronic renal failure patients ,Further this study recommends more genetic studies about the role of vitamin D and parathyroid hormone in chronic renal failure patients on a large scale of patients |
