Abstract Being natural resources support the human life all over the time since his first created, plants have provided the food, shelter and medicine and still have such a basic role in our life. There previous use as a source for medicine in the past decades is well confirmed and this role is becoming greater and expected to increase in the near future.Environmental stresses such as salinity, drought, light and temperature adversely affect plant growth and productivity, thus, reducing the normal yield of economic crops by more than 50%. These stresses are interrelated and induce responses that are complex in nature and common to different plants (Shanker and Venkateswarlu, 2011). One of these responses is the induction or regulation of various secondary metabolites. |
