Abstract Carbon Steel is considered to be one of the main metals used in industry; accordingly, there is a great need to protect Carbon Steel material from corrosion by using corrosion inhibitors. However, the use of chemical inhibitors has been limited because of the environmental threat. A recent trend is devoted to employ carboxylic acids compounds as corrosion inhibitors for Carbon Steel. This thesis mainly deals with the study of the effect of various carboxylic acids molecules on the electropolishing of Carbon Steel, in acidified H3PO4 solution. Divided into three chapters, the thesis includes the introduction, the experimental technique, and the results and discussion. |
