Abstract Low back pain (LBP) is an important clinical, social, economic, and public health problem. Although symptoms are usually acute and self-limited, LBP often recurs. Of those who develop acute LBP, 30% develop chronic LBP (Manchikanti, 2000). Sacroiliac joint pain (SIJP) is an important cause of low back pain. Acute or chronic injury to sacroiliac joint (SIJ) cartilage, joint capsule, peripheral ligament, and soft tissue occurs in SIJP followed by pain in the lumbo-sacral and lower extremities (Vanelderen et al., 2010), (Forst et al., 2006). At present, 15%–30% of low back pain is caused by SIJ disease (Cohen et al., 2013). This seriously affects the patients‘ quality of life and is also the main cause of early incapacity. There are many diseases causing SIJS, the pathogenesis is unclear, and the diagnosis is difficult (Dreyfuss et al., 2004. |
