Abstract In light of the pilot study (the researcher administered a Communicative Competence Skills test and linguistic awareness test from the first term exam of the faculty ) conducted by the researcher, and observing the students during the section , it has been found that some students in the academic year two have low achievement in Communicative Competence Skills at the university stage. The traditional classroom methods limit the students’ interaction and participation. Therefore, The Integrated Language Skills program may solve this problem by using The four Language Skills together and that may increase the students’ involvement and interaction inside and outside the classroom. Consequently, the current study sought to find answers to the following questions in order to develop a program for developing the academic year two Communicative Competence Skills and Linguistic Awareness:: (1) What are the required Communicative Competence Skills for The academic year two ? (2) To what extent do year two master these Communicative Competence skills? (3)How can Integrated Language Skills based program develop year two Communicative Competence Skills and Linguistic Awareness? (4) What is the effect of Integrated Language Skills based program on year two Communicative Competence ? (5) What is the effect of Integrated Language Skills based program on year two Linguistic Awareness? The purpose of this study: was to examine the effect of The Integrated Language Skills program on developing Students’ Communicative Competence and Linguistic Awareness at the Faculty of Specific Education . To achieve this purpose, the researcher adopted experimental approach where there were two similar groups: experimental group and control groups. There were two variables, the independent variable (Integrated Language Skills program) and the dependent variable (Communicative Competence and Linguistic Awareness). The participants of the study :were 60 students from The Academic Year two At the Faculty of Specific Education .The experiment started at the first semester and lasted for Eight weeks The study was delimited to the English general topic from the net. The researcher used a variety of Integrated Language Skills techniques and activities that might increase students’ motivation and encourage them to learn. The researcher used these instruments to collect data: 1-A checklist of Communicative Competence Skills. 2-Communicative Competence Skills Test. 3-A Rubric of Communicative Competence test . 4- A checklist of Linguistic Awareness Skills . 5-Linguistic Awareness Test. 6-A Rubric of Linguistic awareness. |
