Abstract The growth in wind energy worldwide has led to a large penetration of wind energy into the power grid. Thus, the interaction between the grid and wind driven generators becomes a very important issue.Using doubly-fed induction generators(DFIG),as a variable-speed wind turbine scheme, offers many merits. However, DFIG is very sensitive to grid disturbances. So, the most important requirement of integrating DFIG-based wind turbine systems into the main power grid is the continuous connection during grid faults, which is known as fault ride-through(FRT)capability.In this thesis, the dynamic voltage restorer(DVR)is proposed as an effective solution for improving FRT capability of DFIG-based wind turbine systems. |
