Abstract Thepresent study was carried out at the Bee Research Center (BRC) Faculty of Agriculture, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt; this apiary had approximately sixty eight hives. Queens rearing process was made during seasons 2019, 2020, and 2021. The number of queen cups, mated queens, and royal jelly production was studied during two successive seasons 2019 and 2020. Also, the brood frame locations and the locations of grafted larvae in the brood frame were studied. Sequential generations were carried out using fifteen colonies that represented four generations(F1-F2-F3-F4) and their parents(P). In Sequential generations, comparing between the colony of four generations and their parents (NH=15) for the following: Foraging behavior, Morphometric analysis, Aggressiveness, Hygienic behavior, Grooming behavior, and Brood area, to know the last generation that can be reached in the sequential generations. The monthly and daily activity of Vespa orientaliswasp and the temperature were studied. Results showed that months from March to August were the best months for queen rearing and queen mating, while royal jell can be produced all year round. Incontrast, brood framesin the middle of the hives and the middle of brood frames were the best locations for transferring larvae for queen rearing. On the other hand, In the sequential generations, the fourth generation was the last generation obtained, and the results showed that selection can be carried out inside the apiary until the fourth generation or more than that. Conversely, data represented that there were two peaks of Vespa orientalisthe first one was in October and the second was in November, whilethe peak of Vespa orientalis during the day was from 9 AM to 12 PM. |
