Abstract The experiments on Calendula officinalis plants were carried out in the Nursery of Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Suez Canal University, Ismailia Governorate, overthreesuccessive seasons of 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021. Pot experiments were conducted to determine the effect of some chemicals application on the growth and ornamental characteristics of Calendula grown under salt stress. For this purpose, a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design was performed with 3 levels of biochar (0, 5%, 10%) as soil addition, chitosan (0. 100,200mgl-1), sodium silicate (0 , 0.1, 0.2 mMl-1) and triacontanol (0,15,30g) as a foliar under 4 levels of NaCl (0, 1000, 2000 and 3000mgl-1) with 4 replications. Results showed that salt stress decreased vegetative measurements, root characters, photosynthesis pigments, calcium and potassium content but significant increment accord in sodium and proline content increased.Chemical had been sprayed and biochar application mitigate the harmful effect of salt stress special biochar was the best comparably another treatments |
