Abstract

The study was conducted on fifty critically ill septic patients admitted to Critical Care Department of Cairo University Hospitals, indicated to fluid challenge. Our study results showed that 45.5% (n=20) of study population were fluid responders. The PLR test could assess fluid responsiveness with specificity 100% and sensitivity 95% with cut off 11.6% change in CO to predict fluid responsiveness. We concluded that an overall good agreement between carotid blood flow and Electrical Cardiometry measurement and Doppler echocardiography measurementto predict fluid responsiveness post PLR and FC
