Abstract This study discusses the issue of workplace violence in healthcare from an environmental perspective that crosses through the three disciplines of epidemiology, criminology, and architecture, in order to develop an analytical framework that could forecast the potential locations of workplace violence in healthcare facilities, and accordingly suggest the situational prevention measures that need to be taken for a safer working environment. The research justifies the applicability of this framework through its application in a local emergency department in Egypt that suffers from daily incidents of workplace violence |
