Abstract Part 1: Novel bis(1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile) derivatives linked to arene core via ethter amide or ester-amide linkages were prepared by the reaction of the bis-aldehydes with four equivalents of 3-aminocrotononitrile in the presence of acid catalyst. The molecular docking simulation studies indicated that, the prepared compounds bind to the active site of cellular inhibitor apoptotic protein (cIAP1-BIR3).Part 2: One-pot three-component reaction of bis(aldehydes) with 6-aminouracil in boiling acetic acid afforded tetrakis(6-aminopyrimidine-2,4-diones) or bis(tetraoxodecahydropyrido [2,3-d:6,5-d’]dipyrimidines) depending on the reaction conditions.Part 3: A synthesis of novel bis(1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carbonitrile), bis(4Hchromene- 3-carbonitrile) and bis(dihydropyrano[3,2-c]chromene) via multicomponent reactions of the appropriate bis-aldehyde with two equivalents of both of malononitrile and 3- methylpyrazol-5-one, dimedone or 4-hydroxycoumarin in a basic solution |
