The patients were divided randomly into two groups, each group consisted of fourteen patients. Cystic enucleation was performed to all cases. In group (A) PRF to the biphasic bone graft material (BGM) to fill the cystic cavity. PRF was prepared by collection of 20 ml of blood from the same patient and divided equally into 2 dry plain glass tubes and immediately centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 12 minutes without addition of any anti-coagulant agents. While in group (B) BGM was applied alone without PRF to fill the cystic cavity. PRF was a perfect choice as an autologous biologic scaffold easily prepared and economic to get. Physical character was an additional advantage that made it easy to be surgically applicable and stable. The clinical evaluation included assessment of complications during surgery and postoperative healing, as well as, determination of pain and swelling scores via VAS. Radiographic evaluation involved using of CBCT to evaluate the bone density in each group after 9 months of follow up |
