Abstract Purpose: This study is conducted to assess the efficacy of a Novel Mansoura double intrauterine balloon tamponade in the management of primary atonic PPH. Materials and methods : This was a prospective study conducted in the Mansoura university hospitals, Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, faculty of medicine, Mansoura university, over 1 years during the period from 1/2/2019 to 31/1/2020. The study included 22 cases diagnosed with atonic PPH that were refractory to medical treatment, they were managed using a novel Mansoura double balloon catheter Results: The study included 22 patients with atonic PPH refractory to medical treatment, the NMDBC tamponade was successful in 21 cases, and one case required hysterectomy. Conclusions In conclusion, our study showed that double catheter balloon is simple, easy to use, effective, inexpensive, and safe for treating PPH before more aggressive surgery.
