Abstract Antenatal care , beside with family planning, practiced delivery care and urgent situation obstetric care, is a key element of the package of services designed at improving maternal and newborn health. Study Aim : Determine the magnitude of late booking for antenatal care and its causes in Maternal and children health centers in Al Qurein city at Alsharkia governorate. Design: A descriptive analytical design was used in this study. sample: A purposive sample of 166 pregnant women attended Maternal and children health center Tool . an interviewing questionnaire was used to collect data about the late antenatal booking . Results : Revealed that mean age of the studied women was 25.79± 4.99 years , from urban , 90%house wives ,91% were late antenatal booking , there no statistical significant relation between late antenatal booking and all items of demographic characteristics except level of education of studied women P=0.42 Conclusion: The main causes of late booking were ignorance about purpose and time of booking , poor quality of care provided by Maternal and children health and flow up pregnancy in private clinics while the main problem for late booking were financial , marital , serious as death in family. Recommendation: Health education to all women attended to MCH for any reason about important early booking for antenatal care, available of booklet in Maternal and children health contain information about antenatal care. Further study in other place to detect the problem in these places. |
