All survivor patients completed a follow-up period of 3 months after CABGThe study included 62 patients with impaired LV function (left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF] 35-40 %) who underwent isolated on- pump CABG. In our study, we excluded patients with evidence of non-viable myocardium, prior surgery, planned simultaneous surgical procedure unrelated to coronary revascularization (e.g. valve repair/replacement, aneurysmectomy or carotid endarterectomy), severe congestive heart failure or cardiogenic shock, extra-cardiac illness that is expected to limit survival to less than 5 years e.g. oxygen-dependent chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, active hepatitis or significant hepatic failure, severe renal disease. |
