Abstract The thesis includes four parts: part one comprises a general introduction and literature review of the studied drugs and the other three parts include a brief introduction of the applied analytical techniques and detailed description of the experimental works; in addition to references and summary in Arabic.Part One: Introduction and literature review This part describes a brief summary about the veterinary drugs, their classification, uses and mode of action. In addition, the structures, physical properties and review of the published analytical methods of the studied drugs are stated. Part Two: chromatographic Methods It consists of five sections Section A: stability indicating gradient liquid chromatographic method for simultaneous determination of clorsulon and ivermectin This section describes a new stability indicating gradient HPLC method for determination of clorsulon and ivermectin in presence of their degradation products. Both drugs were subjected to different stress conditions including acid, alkaline hydrolysis, oxidative, photolytic and thermal forced degradation. The separation of intact drugs and their degradation products was carried out on ZORBAX SB phenyl analytical column (25 cm x 4.6 mm, 5 æm particle size) with gradient elution utilizing 10 mM sodium dihydrogen phosphate and acetonitrile as mobile phase, UV detection was performed at 254 nm over concentration range of 4-140 æg mL-1 and 5-50 æg mL1 with mean percentage recoveries 99.90% ± 1.30 and 98.59% ± 1.16 for clorsulon and ivermectin, respectively |
