Abstract Electrochemical sensors for determination of some organic compounds were fabricated based on modified ionic liquid crystal (ILC)-carbon paste electrodes. These sensors exhibited higher electro-catalytic activity toward some drugs compared to unmodified electrodes. ILC modified carbon paste electrode in presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (ILCCP{u2026}SDS) was used as a successful sensor for the selective electrochemical determination of terazosin (TZ) in presence of common interference compounds. Another electrochemical sensor for a pain reliever drug, paracetamol (APAP), was fabricated based on gold nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes/ILC modified carbon paste electrode (AuCNTILCCP). This sensor was directly used for direct determination of APAP in urine and drug formulation samples. Two other sensors were fabricated by in-situ modification of carbon paste electrode with cobalt oxide nanoparticles, ILC and graphene or carbon nanotubes in presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate; (CoGILCCP-SDS) and (CNTILCCoCP-SDS) |
