Abstract This thesis consists of six parts; in addition to references, English and Arabic summary Part I: Introduction This part gives a brief idea about definitions of non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs, properties, therapeutic uses, mechanism of action and literature review for previously developed methods for their determination. Part II: chromatographic methods for determination of paracetamol, diclofenac sodium, ibuprofen and indomethacin in wastewater In this part, SPE method was performed for pre-concentration and purification of the samples in wastewater samples from pharmaceutical industries. High performance thin layer chromatographic separation followed by densitometric determination of PCM, DCF, IBP and IND in pure form and in wastewater from pharmaceutical industries. The mean percentage recoveries were found to be 99.67± 1.72, 99.76 ± 1.78, 99.73 ± 0.83 and 99.20 ± 1.62 for PCM, DCF, IBP and IND, respectively High performance liquid chromatography method was used for the determination of PCM, DCF, IBP and IND in pure form and in wastewater from pharmaceutical industries. The mean percentage recoveries were found to be 99.85±1.59, 99.03±1.84, 99.42±1.65and 98.63±1.38for PCM, DCF, IBP and IND respectively |
