Abstract

intracranial tension, visual disturbances, pulsating tinnitus, eye pain, and diplopia. The presence of papilledema is the main sign of suspected disease, and its grade determines the overall treatment strategy. Secondary optic neuropathy in IIH may cause permanent visual loss, which can be seen in 25% of patients. Hence, it must be identified early and adequately treated to avoid blindness (Liu IH et al, 2011). Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has revolutionized ophthalmology and it has become one of the important tools in neuro-ophthalmic practice. Time-domain OCT (TD-OCT) was widely used in clinical practice and currently replaced by the newer Spectral- Domain OCT (SD-OCT) technology that offers considerable improvements. SD-OCT has faster acquisition time and higher resolution than TD-OCT, providing high quality three dimensional images. Furthermore it can track eye movements and it has eliminated operator bias with automatic centration. OCT is a quick, sensitive, non-invasive, user-friendly device that provides high-resolution images
