Abstract Biochar product helps to improve the crop productivity due to improving soil nutrient supply and activity of different microbe and reducing nutrient leaching. Biochar is generated from different sources. The main objectives of the current study are: 1. Preparing and characterization of different sources of biochar from maize, rice, and farm residues 2. Application of biochar with wheat seeds in soils to determining the effect on germination and made other testes 3. Study the effect of biochar on mitotic division and chromosomal aberrations 4. Determination of cytotoxicity of biochar using normal human cell lines 5. Detect the induced/suppressed genes in the treated wheat plants with different biochar sources and levels using DD-PCR. 6. Create the sequence analysis of the selected DNA bands (up/ down) regulated and draw the phylogenetic analysis for the gene sequences 7. Using the real time PCR to detect the role of biochar as growth promoter on the treated plants and examine the plant response The corn stalks, rice straw, and tree residues were washed gently with tap water and then with distilled water to remove all impurities. After that, they were dried in a drying oven at 105°C for 24 hours until completely dried |
