Abstract

The study concluded in its theoretical framework to the importance of applying the Balanced Scorecard to measure and evaluates the performance of the supply chain in the Libyan industrial organizations from the view point of its employees whom involved in supply chain management. In order to achieve the integration between theoretical perspective and practical application, the field study is based on a survey study aimed at identifying the opinions of Libyan factories employees regarding the application of balanced scorecard to measure and evaluate supply chain performance. In order to achieve positive results helps to define and identify the root of problems that faces the effective application of balanced score card and to find proposals and recommendations that play a big role in improving the application of balanced scorecard system, the practical part has dealt with a questionnaire was distributed on employees whom involved in supply chain activities. Moreover, they acquired the necessary experience in various activities that can broadly classified as the integration between the four qualitative perspectives of supply chain balanced scorecard (i.e. the financial perspective, the customer perspective, the internal process perspective, and finally the learning and growth perspective). The employees are working in companies practice diffrent types of industries. Key performance indicators are vital to conduct and manage the measurement of supply chain. Authors developed a huge number of these indicators depending on each mentioned field, which result difficulties in performing an effective measurement. Therefore, the study aimed to develop a questionnaire, in which respondenten select suitable indicators for each perspective of the balanced scorecard to perform an effective supply chain performance measurement. Statical analysis should performed to calculate the weight of each indicator and selecting the most important of them. The results of statistical analysis concluded to select a group of Key performance indicators; some of them for financial, and some for customer whereas the other for internal processes, as well as for learning & growth. All these indicators were put as a frame work in a balanced scorecard model in order to measure and evaluate supply chain performance. Based on correlation, multiple and simple regression in testing the hypothesis of the study. The empirical results of the main hypothesis found significant supportive evidence for the applicability of balanced sorecard model in the industrial organizations, furthermore, the results of the four sub hypotheses also showed significant evidence for the applicability of all four balanced scorecard perspectives in evaluating supply chain performance.
