Abstract

Thoracotomy is associated with painful incisions due to involvement of multiple muscle layers, rib resection, and continuous motion with patient breathe , Ultrasound-guided Serratus Anterior Plane Block (SAP) has been recently described as a regional anesthetic technique to provide analgesia for breast and thoracic wall surgeries. During SAP block local anesthetic is deposited in the fascial plane between serratus anterior muscle and latissimus dorsi muscle VAS score and opioid showed significant difference between 2 study groups 12 and 24 hrs post ext. (higher in SAPB group ) There is significant differences between the two study groups regarding duration of the procedure, SAPB took less time than TPVB
