Abstract Hypothyroidism is a common condition affecting large sector of population, up to 1% to 2% of women in the United States suffer from hypothyroidism, and complicates 0.3% of pregnancies. It is associated with premature birth, preeclampsia, placental abruption, low birth weight, postpartum hemorrhage, and impaired neuropsychological development in childhood. The aim of this work was early detection of hypothyroidism among pregnant women, to prevent dangerous outcome of women reproductive health and to get a safe, healthy mothers and children. |
