Abstract Dilation and curettage (D and C) is one of the most commonly performed gynecological procedures. Basically, the procedure has diagnostic and therapeutic indications for a diverse gynecological disorders that might affect the dynamic female reproductive organ; the uterus. Although it is used to be an easy intervention, short and long term complications were, and will be, reported. To optimize the benefits and minimize the risks inherent to the conventional procedure, continuous ultrasound guidance was tried during dilation and curettage.
