Abstract In this thesis, we present energy-efficient implicit aggregation schemes for cooperative cognitive radio sensor networks (CRSNs). The proposed schemes use random channel sensing, implicit cooperation, slotted contention with modified carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) for a fixed decision delay, and simplified aggregation to achieve a green and efficient channel sensing technique in CRSNs. We propose the implicit OR (I OR) and implicit AND (I AND) protocols that randomly senses only a single channel then we proposed the generalized GI OR protocol that can sense a subset of r channels. The proposed protocols do not only save more than half the consumed energy and decision delay but also reduce the required capabilities of the aggregating node to be as simple as any ordinary node due to the low complexity of simplified aggregation |
