Abstract Biohydrogen has significant feasibility since biological processes are much less energy intensive compared with electrolysis and thermo-chemical processes. Biohydrogen producing bacteria was exposed to helium-neon red and green laser, this led to photobiostimulation of the bacterial cells (Activity, growth rate,..etc). The yielded biohydrogen by photo-fermentation of food leftovers was increased significantly. The yielded biohydrogen using this new technique produced hydrogen 1.26 and 1.79 times the control for red and green laser. |
