Abstract

The current work aims to evaluate the plant growth regulators (PGRs) content
in some microalgae and cyanobacteria species cultivated in an inexpensive media.
Two cyanobacterial (Anabaena oryzae and Nostoc muscurum) and a chlorophyte
species (Chlorella vulgaris) from six algal species, were selected according to the
concentration of auxins and cytokinin‘s analyzed by HPLC. They cultivated on
treated sewage wastewater (TSW) combined with BG medium at different
concentrations (100, 75, and 50% TSW). The Biological activities include
antimicrobial and antioxidant (using DPPH radical methods) of absolute methanol
extracts were evaluated. In addition, application experiments of IAA and BA
presence in algal extract was applied on tomato canola plantlets and soybean callus.
The genetic stability among the produced in vitro plantlets of both plant species was
evaluated by ISSR and RAPD markers. The obtained results revealed that the use of
sewage wastewater as media for cultivation of the investigated algae is safe,
suitable, cheap and not expensive methods when compared with the ordinary used
media with low genetic divergence
