Abstract Purpose: The goal of this systematic study was to see if low-level laser therapy could help patients with discomfort after orofacial surgery. Methods: Randomized Controlled Trials: A Systematic Review, All studies were from 1996 to 2018, and the data sources searched were PubMed, Pedro, Google Scholar, and Cochrane. The English language was one of the restrictions. The methodological quality of included research was independently assessed, and a level of evidence was assigned (Center for Evidence Based Medicine). Intervention: Low-level lasers such as He Ne and GA AlAs, as well as their effects on pain in patients with orofacial operations, were studied in 11 randomized controlled studies. Results: eleven studies were chosen for inclusion in the meta-analysis, with the primary outcome of mucositic pain and secondary outcome of ROM and quality of life. Conclusions: In post-operative orofacial operations, prophylactic LLLT ”GaAIAs” prevented severe mucositis and discomfort. There is some evidence that it has an impact on secondary outcomes such as ROM, cognitive function, and overall quality of life. |
