Abstract The gram-negative bacteria Erwinia amylovora is the fireblight disease causal agent and threatens international apple and pear fruit production. The current work aimed to study the resonance frequency of extremely low frequency electric pulses (ELF-EPs), and magnetic pulses (ELF-MPs) on the growth ability, antibiotic sensitivity, and the changes in the cell membrane activity of E. amylovora. Treatment of E. amylovora at 1.4 Hz for 2 hours with (ELF-EPs) increases the sensitivity of antibiotics to the pathogen. The dielectric relaxation showed a change in the distribution of surface charge of the bacterium, also highly significant in the morphological view through the transmission electron microscope TEM. The DNA analysis proves that the change only occurs in the bacterial cell wall. It was concluded that E.amylovora’s treatment by electric pulsed fields for the 1.4 Hz frequency for 2 hours affects the cell structure-activity |
