Abstract
The main aim of this study is to assess the effect of serum ferritin level, lipid profile and serum alpha-feto protein level as predictors of response to pegylated interferon and ribavirin therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection. This study was conducted on 200 patients with CHC virus infection. All patients were subjected to full history taking.Thorough clinical examination. Continuous monitoring of liver profile (to detect elevation of liver enzymes). Continuous monitoring of iron profile, lipid profile & AFP. According to their response at week 4 (RVR), week 12 (EVR) and week 48 (ETR), the patients were divided into responders and non-responders
