Abstract This study was carried out to compare myogenic differentiation of skeletal muscle explants and cord blood stem cells. I- In this study, 15 samples of umbilical cord blood were obtained, isolation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) was done. In vitro expansion of MSCs was performed. MSCs were propagated in vitro, the myogenic differentiation medium was added. The cells showed a change in their morphology myotube appeared. II- Twenty five samples of skeletal muscle (1x1 cm3) were obtained and minced using micro- explant technique .In vitro expansion was performed. Muscle precursor cells reached (75%-80%) confluence; cells were sub-cultured till myotube formation. III. RNA extraction was performed; RNA was transformed to (cDNA) and expression of Desmin and Myo D genes were assessed using RT-PCR technique. |
