Abstract The thesis investigated the effect of Nano silica (NS) on high strength concrete (HSC) with the addition of new superplasticizer to improve workability, strength, ductility and durability of high strength concrete, and normal strength concrete (NSC). In addition the influence of nano particles with different percentages on the properties of fresh concrete and hardened concrete is studied. An experimental program is designed to cover research objectives using standard cubes, cylinders and standard reinforced concrete beams for bending. Moreover, the reduction of cement content with certain percentage with the addition of nano silica nearly gives the same mechanical properties of the same mixes without reduction of cement content and without adding nano silica (control mix) |
