Abstract Juvenile SLE is an autoimmune disease with a genetic and environmental background, this cross sectional study aimed to detect any association betweenIL-10 gene polymorphisms at the positions (-592A\C& -819C\T) and JSLE .Fifty Egyptian children with JSLE, attending the Rheumatology clinic at Cairo University children’s hospital were included, together with forty healthy control. The study detected a relation between IL-10 _592C\A polymorphism and occurrence of SLE in Egyptian children, (p= 0.000) and (OR: 13.41, 95%CI: 6.64-27.83) of-592 C risky allele , while there was significant increase of the dermatological manifestations of JSLE in the patients having-819C\T polymorphism. In conclusion, IL-10 -592A\C polymorphism could be a predisposing factor to JSLE in Egypt while IL-10 -819 C\T could affect its clinical picture |
