Abstract In this thesis a case study has been developed to illustrate the application of a dynamic model for the process facilities of a gas plant, covering the Slug catchers, Compression trains, LTS trains & Condensate handling system in order to verify safe and steady operating capability, performance and stability of the plant control system during normal and abnormal operating conditions. Different scenarios were made including normal start-up, steady-state operating mode, planned shutdown, and emergency shutdown with & without equipment depressurization. Based on the studied scenarios; the control loops were tested, tuned and found sufficient to bring the system to steady state after certain upsets. Also the startup and shutdown sequences have been verified to be safe, finally certain modifications have been recommended for better controllability and performance of the plant |
