Abstract In this dissertation, cadmium selenide (CdSe) QDs nanoparticles of different sizes (2.4 nm to 3.69 nm), polyaniline (PANI) of different types (acid and base) have been prepared via established conventional chemical methods. characterization of samples of colloidal solutions and composites was carried out optically through transmission electron microscope (TEM) imaging, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, while electrically through dc and ac measurements. Effect of colloidal concentrations of the investigated materials on the optical properties of CdSe QDs and PANI has been studied to obtain the optimal concentration (CdSe ” " ~ " ” 1.4 mg/ml, PANI ” " ~ " ” 0.078 mg/ml) for prospective applications. Optimal concentration (” " ~ " ” 0.05 g/ml) of PMMA polymer is used to obtain thin films of thickness ” " ~ " ” 0.4 mm whose electrical properties are thoroughly explored. The outcome of this thesis emphasizes the degree of enhancement in the optical and electrical properties of PANI in conjunction with CdSe nanocomposites controlled by the size of the CdSe QDs nanoparticle. |
