Abstract This research was carried out to evaluate some of local and commercial tomato genotypes against root-knot nematode, M. incognita infestation, and the influence of the genetics background of these genotypes on resistance expression. Also, the genetic differences in 6 root-knot nematode, M. incognita isolates collected from different tomato growing areas. Finally, validate damage in host growth and genetic response of different identified isolates of root-knot nematode, M. incognita in relation to levels of nematode infection was also studied. The reaction of fourteen tomato genotypes to M. incognita infection was studied in two summer seasons (2013 and 2014). M. incognita was able to infect, cause root galling and reproduced only on nine tomato genotypes. Meanwhile, another five genotypes (LA2819, LA2820, LA2822, CGN14387 and LA1221) were ranked as immune |
