Abstract Acceleration of soil salinization is inevitable in the next few years as a major aspect climate change in semiarid areas. The main goal of the present study was to evaluate soil ecosystem functioning under different regimes of salinity disturbance. Soil used in the study was collected from two agricultural fields at Meet Al Mokhles village, Zefta center, Al-Gharbia governorate, Egypt. Experimental pots filled with soil samples were prepared and let for four months to enhance soil stabilization. Different NaCl concentrations (0.5, 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15%), in addition to distilled water as a control treatment were introduced to certain groups of experimental pots at different frequencies of addition at days 0, 40, 80, 120 and 160. |
