المستخلص Thisthesis is divided into three chapters, as follows: Chapter I is entitled:A field study to identify the fungi that grow on paper manuscripts morphologically The researcher deals with the materials and -methods used in the field study based on fifteen samples of paper manuscripts from the Ottoman era to detect the relationship of microbial degradation to the nature of the paper manuscript as an organic material depend on the results of the digital microscope and scanning electron microscope with EDX unit, infrared specimen analysis, X-ray analysis and the microbiological study that showed that Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus Fumigatus, and Aspergillus clavatus are the most common types of fungi that degrade the archaeological manuscripts, hence the need to find a technique that can be used to inhibit fungal attack. Chapter 2: An experimental study to evaluate the effect of physical gel poultices loaded with some nanoparticles for inhibition fungal growth on the properties of paper manuscripts. The chapter begins with preparing nanoparticles of silver, zinc oxide, and titanium oxide in solid-state, then loading them into five cellulose acetate membranes, and conducting a series of examinations and analyses of the membranes before and after application, as well as of the nanoparticles and paper samples with or without iron-carbon ink. Then expose the samples to artificial aging. The results showed the effectiveness of the cellulose acetate with silver nanoparticles in inhabitation fungal attack, and not affecting the properties of paper samples, and this method was selected for application to a literary manuscript from 1334H-1915, which is a message in the mysticism entitled (the words of the Sufi revealing secrets). An applied study of the effect of physical gel poultices loaded with some nanoparticles for inhibition fungal growth on a chosen object. This chapter mentioned the various documentation, examinations and analyzes of the manuscript before and after treatment, with treatment the manuscript by consolidation, ink fixing, inhibition of fungal attack, mechanical, chemical cleaning, completion, treatment of cuts and holes, a method for storing and packaging the manuscript, and the chapter ends with a number of results, with recommendations and references in Arabic and English language. |
